Here are my best best for NFL week 5. Just remember the best way to be successful is to make the individual bets along with the parlay. As always, bet responsibly, don’t lose your rent money on my bets, because you can’t stay with me.
Alvin Kamara OVER 57.5 Rushing Yards + Anytime TD
The (0-4) New Orleans Saints host the (1-3) New York Giants in week five and this may be the best chance the Saints have to get rid of that zero in the win column. New Orleans has been scrappy and put up a good fight in three of the first four games. That has included good play from Alvin Kamara.
Kamara has averaged at least 4.1 yards per carry in three of the four games. The one game where he did not have good numbers rushing, was against the Seattle Seahawks. The Saints were down 38-6 at halftime of that game, not the best conditions for a running back to succeed on the ground.
The New York Giants have struggled against the run this season. Their run defense ranks 29th in the NFL, giving up 153 yards per game and six rushing touchdowns through four games.
This game should be a close one, which means more rushing opportunities for Kamara against that poor run defense of New York. So Kamara, should get at least 58 rushing yards and a touchdown, which he can get on the ground or as a receiver.
UNDER 41.5 Total Points for Titans vs Cardinals
The (0-4) Tennessee Titans are on the road against the (2-2) Arizona Cardinals. The Titans have been the worst team in the NFL this season. Their own starting quarterback, Cam Ward, called them “ass”. Which is another way to say they are terrible.
The Titans have the 31st ranked offense in the NFL by yards and the 32nd ranked offense by points. They average 210 yards gained per game and 12.8 points scored per game.
In their last match-up against the Houston Texans. Tennessee was shutout and gained 175 total yards. They lost the game 26-0. Now, it’s hard to get shutout in back to back weeks but it will be a while before this offense is capable of scoring 20 plus points on a consistent basis.
This week they go against the Arizona Cardinals defense, which is only giving up 18.5 points per game. They should be able to lower that average by a good margin this week.
The Cardinals offense has struggled this season as well, they are 23rd in points per game, scoring 23.5 points a game.
The Cardinals may win easily but the total score should stay under 41.5 points.
TreVeyon Henderson OVER 26.5 Rushing Yards
The NFL world and fantasy football owners have been not so patiently waiting for TreVeyon Henderson to have his breakout game. This may be the week where that happens. The New England Patriots have been going with a running back by committee that includes Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Antonio Gibson.
Henderson’s carries are increasing as the season goes along and this week he may see an uptick in opportunities, because they are playing against the undefeated Buffalo Bills.
The Bills are a great team with one glaring weakness, their run defense. The Bills rank 31st in the NFL against the run. They are giving up 164.3 rushing yards per game.
New England’s best chance of pulling off this upset, is to run the ball and keep the Bills offense, off of the field as much as possible. This should lead to more opportunities for Henderson, which will put him in a great position to get more than 27 yards on the ground.
Justin Herbert OVER 264.5 Passing Yards
The Los Angeles Chargers are now (3-1) after their shocking loss to the New York Giants. They are the perfect candidate for a bounce back week. They are playing against the (2-2) Washington Commanders.
The Commanders are ranked 27th against the pass, giving up 248.5 passing yards per game. The Chargers are the 5th best passing offense in the NFL, passing for 249 yards per game. The combination of that great passing offense going against that putrid passing defense should lead to Chargers quarterback, Justin Herbert, having a huge day and passing for at least 265 yards.
These are my best bets for NFL week 5. Do you agree with my picks? What are some of your “can’t miss” bets for this weekend?
