2025 isn’t halfway done yet and we have already had so many big time boxing matches that have changed the pound for pound rankings. Here are my top 10 boxers pound for pound, right now.
10. Teofimo Lopez

Teofimo Lopez is now 22-1 with 13 wins by way of knockout. He is a former unified champion at 135 pounds and the current WBO champion at 140 pounds. Lopez is coming off of a very impressive unanimous decision win over the previously undefeated Arnold Barboza Jr. on May 2nd.
Lopez is one of the most athletic boxers in the sport and has taken his skill level up a notch since his upset loss to George Kambosos Jr. Since that fight, Lopez has not lost and has wins over Barboza, Jamaine Ortiz, and Josh Taylor. He also has big wins from earlier in his career over Masayoshi Nakatani, Richard Commey, and Vasyl Lomachenko.
The Takeover as he calls himself has set his aim at the 147 pound division as he has called Jaron “Boots” Ennis. Hopefully, that fight can happen, it would be a highly anticipated bout between two young stars of the sport.
9. David Benavidez

David Benavidez is known as “The Monster” for good reason. He has been a wrecking ball that went through the 168 pound division and is now trying to go through the 175 pound division. In his last bout he defeated David Morrell Jr. , who was undefeated going into that fight.
The combination of size, fast hands, and never ending pursuit has made Benavidez one of the best in the sport. Which has led to his undefeated, 30-0 record with 24 knockouts including quality wins over Morrell, Caleb Plant, Demetrius Andrade, and Anthony Dirrell among others. Benavidez wants to prove that he is the best in the sport but may have to wait a while before he can take on the lineal champion at light heavyweight, Dmitry Bivol.
Bivol gave up his WBC belt because he wants to pursue a third fight against Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez was awarded that belt and now should be defending it soon. The ideal bout would be Benavidez vs Callum Smith with the winner taking on the winner of Bivol vs Beterbiev 3 for the undisputed championship at light heavyweight.
8. Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez is building a legendary resume. He is currently 21-0 with 14 knockouts. He has a lot of impressive wins on his resume including Juan Francisco
Estrada, Sunny Edwards, Cristian Gonzalez-Hernandez, and Wisaksil Wangek among others.
Bam looks to add to his resume as he takes on the undefeated Phumelela Cafu in a unification bout at super flyweight on July 19th.
7. Shakur Stevenson

Shakur Stevenson is an exceptionally talented boxer, that fans either hate or love. The fans that love him, see him as a brilliant defensive fighter with offensive skills that have yet to be brought to the surface fully. While the fans that hate him, find him to be boring, and think that he has yet to fight great competition.
Whether you hate him or love him, you have to respect the record. Stevenson is 23-0 with 11 knockouts, including wins over Jamel Herring, Oscar Valdez, Robson Conceicao, and Edwin De Los Santos.
Stevenson is set to take on William Zepeda on July 12th. Zepeda is an undefeated, non-stop offensive fighter. This is the fight where Stevenson can truly prove the doubters wrong with a great performance.
6. Artur Beterbiev

Artur Beterbiev suffered the first loss of his professional career in last fight against Dmitry Bivol. Beterbiev is now 21-1 with 20 knockouts with lots of quality wins over opponents like Dmitry Bivol, Callum Smith, Anthony Yarde, and Joe Smith Jr. among others.
Beterbiev could fight Dmitry Bivol for the third time later this year for the unified light heavyweight title.
5. Canelo Alvarez

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has one of the best resumes in boxing history. He defeated William Scull on May 3rd and is now 63-2 with 39 wins by knockout. The bout against Scull was not a classic fight to say the least. It was more of a marathon than a fight as Scull spent most of the fight circling the outside of the ring while Canelo chased him.
The lack of competition over his last few fights is what lands Alvarez outside of the top four for me but he could place himself back into the running for the top spot as he is set to take on fellow future hall of famer Terence Crawford in September.
4. Terence Crawford

Terence Crawford is currently 41-0 with 31 knockouts and has an argument to be number one on this list. The reason he is outside of the top three for me is inactivity. Crawford has only fought once a year since 2020. While other top tier fighters have stayed booked and busy.
Crawford’s skill set and resume keep him in the top four despite the lack of fights. He is a switch hitter who can punch with power from either stance. The Omaha, Nebraska native looks to put his name in the greatest of all time conversation by defeating Canelo Alvarez in September.
3. Dmitry Bivol

Dmitry Bivol comes in at number three after defeating Artur Beterbiev in his last fight to become the undisputed light heavyweight champion. Bivol is now 24-1 with 12 knockouts, this includes wins over great boxers like Beterbiev, Canelo Alvarez, Jean Pascal, and Joe Smith Jr among others.
2. Naoya Inoue

Naoya Inoue continues to build a legendary resume with exciting fight after exciting fight. On May 4th, he defeated Ramon Cardenas in a back and forth battle that ended with Inoue winning by knockout.
Inoue is 30-0 with 27 wins by way of knockout. The Japanese native has lots of quality wins over boxers like, Cardenas, Luis Nery, Marlon Tapales, Stephen Fulton, and Nonito Donaire among others.
1. Oleksandr Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk is one of the most technically gifted boxers in boxing today. This has led to him being undefeated and undisputed in two weight classes. Usyk is currently 23-0 with 14 knockouts. He has defeated the likes of, Tyson Fury (twice), Anthony Joshua (twice), Daniel Dubois, Tony Bellew, and Mairis Briedis among others.
Usyk has put together a legendary resume and still seems to be hungry to do more. He is set to fight Daniel Dubois on July 19th to attempt to become undisputed again.
Just Missed The Cut
There are so many great boxers in today’s boxing landscape. A few that just missed my top ten pound for pound list, Gervonta Davis, Devin Haney, and Junto Nakatani among others.
Davis is a top ten talent but his resume does not have an abundance of true challenges. He could get his way back on the list with an impressive win over Lamont Roach later this year.
Haney has a great resume but has only fought once since the no-content against Ryan Garcia and was not impressive at all in his win over Jose Ramirez.
Junto Nakatani is putting together a great career and just needs the opportunity to prove himself against the best.
Do you agree with my pound for pound list?
